The truck and deck size above is a general guide based on the most common conditions, but everyone's likes are different and therefore it is not a must requirement but see it as a guideline. The more you develop, the more you will want to customize your gear to your preferences!
You should try to match the width of your skateboard trucks as closely as possible to the width of your skateboard, preferably within 5-6mm. Too narrow trucks will give you an unstable board and too wide will impair your turning ability. In general, you don't want to see your wheels if you are looking straight down at your board from above!
